Ongoing care
Know what happens after the visit.
A prescription leaves questions about how to get help, what gets checked, and when the next conversation will happen. Have those answers before paying for ongoing care.
Getting help
Ask how to reach a clinician later
FDA calls it a warning sign if you cannot reach a licensed doctor with questions after your medicine arrives.
Ask where to send a concern and how quickly the service expects to reply. Keep the answer somewhere easy to find.

Know what will be followed over time
The official medicine instructions for semaglutide (Wegovy) call for blood sugar checks in people with diabetes. They also call for checking the heartbeat while resting.
The instructions also tell the clinician to check how well your kidneys are working if vomiting or diarrhea could cause fluid loss.
Ask which tests you need, where they will happen, and who will review them. These are checks to arrange with your clinician. Write down how results will reach you.
A change of plan
Discuss a pause or a switch ahead of time
STEP 1 is the name of a semaglutide weight-loss study. Researchers checked some participants again after treatment ended. On average, about two-thirds of the weight previously lost returned during the following year.
A study average cannot tell you what will happen to you. Use the result as a reason to ask about a plan for ongoing care.

Other care
Mention planned surgery or procedures
The official medicine instructions for semaglutide ask people to tell their care team before planned surgery or procedures.
Ask the surgical team how your medicine fits into their plan. Keep the exact product name with your other medicine notes.
Your notes
Bring what changed to the next conversation
Write down questions as they come up. A short note about what changed and when can make the next conversation easier.
Agree with the clinician on which changes to record for the next visit.
